Message from the President

On behalf of Delta Alpha Omicron Zeta, I am delighted to to welcome you to our virtual home.  I am proud and honored to represent this dynamic, innovative & eclectic group of women who have commited to the work of establishing  an unmatched community service organization that perpetuates the principles upon which Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded; Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood. Our chapter membership consists of college educated women with diverse professional backgrounds, united in our love for our Sorority and by a common goal to serve the community.

 

The purpose of our chapter is to expand the presence of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. in Southern Illinois through the implementation of our current international programming, with a focus on academic, cultural, community-conscious, and action-oriented programs. To that end, the women of Delta Alpha Omicron Zeta Chapter have hit the ground running since chartering on August 21, 2023.

We are actively cultivating relationships with community partners and supporters, with the intent of being a resource to both our partners and the communities that we all serve. To date, Delta Alpha Omicron Zeta has participated in the following:  

• American Cancer Society Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk

• American Cancer Society Relay for Life Walk

• Alzheimer’s Association Walk

• Prostate Cancer Walk

• Supported the March of Dimes by hosting a Bowling for Babies event

• Hosted a sold-out exclusive screening of "the Color Purple"

• Hosted "Coffee with Veterans" event

• Supported Wreaths Across America 

• Feeding of Seniors and Homeless for Thanksgiving

• Canned Food Drive

• Coat and Blanket Drive

• Overnight Warming Location Volunteerism

 

For current and new members alike, our goal in chartering Delta Alpha Omicron Zeta was to create an environment that enables and inspires. To serve as a home for Sorors to reclaim and maintain membership that provides ample opportunities for development and embellishment, while empowering them to pursue avenues of growth that utilize their talents to benefit our community and our organization.  Our aim is to provide leadership that is knowledgeable, approachable, transparent, and fair.

As you explore our site, I hope that you will gain more insight about our Illustrious organization and chapter.  As we celebrate our second Century of Service under the leadership of our 26th International President and CEO, Dr. Stacie N.C. Grant, Delta Alpha Omicron Zeta Chapter will continue to uphold the principles of Zeta. We will operate in the spirit of excellence and continue to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the communities we serve.
